A new GLASS-thetic

A New Vision: Goregia Christiansen’s Glass-Paneled Book of Mormon Comic

Glass artist and comic book writer Goregia Christiansen is bringing a new dimension to religious storytelling with their upcoming project—a Book of Mormon-themed glass-paneled comic. Merging the rich tradition of stained-glass art with the sequential narrative of comics, Christiansen’s work transforms sacred storytelling into a luminous, three-dimensional experience.

Drawing inspiration from centuries of church window artistry, Christiansen’s panels go beyond mere decoration. Their style, a fusion of American Realism and classical Christian themes, brings a grounded yet ethereal quality to each scene. Characters emerge in striking detail, illuminated by natural light, while the panels retain the storytelling cadence of a graphic novel.

This innovative approach breathes new life into scripture, allowing viewers to experience the stories of the Book of Mormon in a way that is both visually stunning and spiritually immersive. Christiansen’s project represents a meeting of old and new—where the solemn beauty of stained glass meets the dynamic energy of comic art.

As they refine their technique and finalize the narrative, Christiansen is set to introduce a groundbreaking visual medium that could redefine how religious stories are told and experienced.

Nephi builds the boat, one of Christiansen’s earlier works, and part of a set of 3-D sculptures depicting Nephi’s journey to the Promised Land.

Part of a Star Wars inspired aesthetic, this sculpture depicts Ammon after cutting off the arms of the Lamanites to save King Lamoni’s sheep.

Part of Christiansen’s new line for children, this glass piece of Helaman’s stripling warriors has a place in any nursery.
