BYU Alumnus Amy Browning Explores the Connection Between Creativity and the Nervous System

Amy Browning, a BYU graduate, is merging art and science in a fascinating way. As both a tattoo artist and acupuncturist, she is currently conducting research on the relationship between the creative mind and the nervous system. Her study aims to pinpoint how artistic expression interacts with neurological pathways, potentially offering insights into cognition, emotion, and well-being.

In addition to her research on creativity, Browning is also exploring the connection between the feet and endorphin release. She believes that certain pressure points in the feet can stimulate the body’s natural painkillers, enhancing relaxation, mood, and even creative flow. Her work integrates traditional acupuncture techniques with modern insights into neurobiology, providing a holistic approach to well-being.

Browning is seeking volunteers to participate in this unique study, which could help bridge the gap between creativity and neuroscience. As a token of appreciation, all participants will be compensated with oat milk decaf matcha lattes and free tattoos.
